Bath in Fashion has launched a series of successful YouTube films interviewing some of the high-profile celebrities from the world of fashion involved in Bath in Fashion 2012.

The Bath in Fashion You Tube Channel has already received 3,500 hits. The team behind the festival, which takes place between March 23 and April 1, visited London Fashion Week to film Stephen Jones and interview Amanda Wakeley at her South Kensington HQ.

They have also made films with Bath Rugby, singer and designer Pearl Lowe and pentathlete Heather Fell, who trains at the University of Bath Sports Training Village.

Heather won Silver at the Beijing Olympics and is a strong contender for this year’s London Games. But when she is not wearing a tracksuit her passion is fashion.

Corsham-based film maker Jai Stokes of Bath firm Bubble Head Media, who has filmed One Direction, Victoria Beckham and Lily Allen among others, is directing the Bath in Fashion YouTube series.

The Bath in Fashion programme includes a stunning catwalk show from guest designer Amanda Wakeley – a rare opportunity to see a fashion show outside London by such a high profile designer.

Amanda aid “I first went to Bath when I was about 12 years old and I absolutely fell in love with it. We’re re-running the September Spring/Summer ‘12 catwalk show so we’ve all the styling of a London Fashion Week show replicated for Bath.”

Her show, sponsored by CircleBath, is in the Art Deco Ballroom at the Forum on March 29 at 2.30pm. For tickets please visit www.bathinfashion.co.uk or call 0844 8475256.

Fashion show impresario from London Fashion Week, John Walford, will be working alongside stylist Rebekah Roy to recreate the magic of the London catwalks throughout the week in spectacular Bath locations such as the Guildhall and the Assembly Rooms.

Other celebrities appearing at Bath in Fashion include Matteo Alessi, the only person in the Alessi dynasty still working in the business; Somerset-based Roger Saul, who famously created the Mulberry brand and now operates Kilver Court, a designer outlet at Shepton Mallet; and Julian Roberts, who demonstrates his colourful approach to pattern cutting at the Assembly Rooms.

Rosemary Harden is launching her series of talks relating to the Fashion Museum’s Sport and Fashion exhibition, recently opened by Heather Fell.

Sarah Mower, who hails from Bath, will be in conversation with Stephen Jones on March 30 at 4pm.

Stephen  has curated a special exhibition at Bath’s Holburne Museum  – his exhibition at the Victoria & Albert Museum drew a record-breaking 100,000 visitors, so this is a major coup for the city.

He says in the video: “I’m thrilled to be involved with Bath in Fashion because I’m working with two great friends – Sarah Mower and Iain Webb, who is curating the exhibition. I’m in conversation with Sarah Mower – she is Britain’s unofficial hat journalist. We’re going to be talking about all sorts of aspects of hats, my career, and Bath.”

During his career Stephen has worked with some of the world’s most prominent fashion houses and designers including Jean Paul Gaultier, Vivienne Westwood, Thierry Mugler, Christian Dior, John Galliano and Marc Jacobs.

With a career that spans more than 20 years at the forefront of fashion journalism reviewing catwalk shows in London, Milan and Paris, Sarah Mower is probably the world’s most-read fashion critic. She is the British Fashion Council’s Ambassador for emerging talent, a critic for American Vogue and was awarded an MBE in October for services to the fashion industry.

Sarah Mower will also be on the panel for Fashion Your Future, an inspirational seminar for young people keen to explore opportunities in fashion and retail.

Bath in Fashion celebrates style from top to toe with a line-up that includes two of British fashion’s most famous names – shoe designer Manolo Blahnik and milliner Stephen Jones.

The Manolo Blahnik talk sold out in 20 minutes and tickets are going fast for all the other events, including workshops by textile artist Karen Nicol and Julian Roberts; Vintage Sunday, featuring Pearl Lowe; and the film Beyond Biba, introduced by Barbara Hulanicki, the style icon behind the Biba label.
