Bath ethical businesses ElephantBranded and The Thoughtful Bread Company will be showcased at an event this evening held in the city to celebrate Global Entrepreneurship Week.
Staged by Bath Entrepreneurs’ Club and supported by Bath Business News, the event will also hear from Richard Hall, founder and director of Zenith International, the Bath-based global food and drink consultancy. It takes place at The Shrubbery, the City of Bath College’s in-house restaurant, which is operated and staffed by the students
The event starts at 6.30pm and will offer new businesses and entrepreneurs the opportunity to speak to local specialist business advisors as part of a mini business clinic and the chance to network with like-minded individuals.
It is free to attend but registration is required via organiser Angela Ladd angelaRladd@aol.com or via the website www.banesentrepreneursclub.co.uk
ElephantBranded is based on a simple idea. For every one of its ethically-made, recycled bag or related product it sells it gives an ergonomically-designed schoolbag and kit to a child in Africa or Asia. It pays a fair, competitive wage to local villagers who make its bags out of locally sourced, recycled materials.
The Thoughtful Bread Company uses the most seasonal and locally-sourced or foraged ingredients, fresh each and every day to bake its loaves. Each loaf is hand-rolled and individual in character and is produced using extended proving periods.
The firm adheres strongly to an environmentally-friendly and ethical approach to business.
