Park Lane Press, the Corsham-based environmentally-conscious printing firm, has made it a hat-trick of awards so far this year as it continues to promote its sustainable approach to business.

Its third trophy of the year came last week when it came top in the environmental category at the prestigious Print and Paper Awards for its SS Great Britain Anniversary Book.

The title was produced with 100% recycled paper on Park Lane’s waterless press.

The firm also gained recognition in four categories in the awards, which were staged on the Silver Sturgeon river cruise boat on the Thames.

In February it scooped the Sustainable Manufacturer of the Year Award in the Wiltshire Wildlife Trust Business of the Year Awards followed in April by the Environmental Business Award of the year at the Wiltshire Business of the Year Awards

Managing director Phil Sudwell said: “It is fantastic that our efforts have been recognised regionally and nationally, with our production figures on the up I feel like it is going to be an exciting year for us.”

Park Lane Press use waterless printing, vegetable-based inks, 100% renewable energy and recycles more than 95% of all its waste streams. Some 99% of paper used is FSC accredited. It is EMAS, ISO14001, ISO9001 and FSC-accredited and offsets site emissions with The Pure Trust Charity.  It has also installed a power-optimising unit to reduce energy use and re-circulate warm air created by machinery to reduce heating bills.
