Chris Timms, an engineer with more than 40 years’ experience, has joined Chippenham heating and plumbing firm John Williams Heating Services.
Chris, pictured, who’s 63, has worked in engineering since leaving school at the age of 15. He became an apprentice and started his career in Oxford. He then moved to Wiltshire and spent many years working for a small company in Royal Wootton Bassett. 
He was made redundant a few months ago when his former employer retired and the business was closed down. Chris had heard of John Williams Heating Services and handed in his CV in person.
He said: “The company has such a good reputation, and it’s family run which is what I am used to and I enjoy this kind of environment. I was thrilled to be interviewed and then offered a job.”
Chris joins a team of 13 engineers which includes three apprentices.
