Two former human resources bosses at Bath media group Future have formed their own HR consultancy.
Pippa Daniels, who was Future’s director human resources for 10 years to January this year, and Gillian Pears, its head of HR for nearly 10 years until last December, have formed Pears & Daniels HR Consultancy in Bath.
The agency provides consultancy for local firms on a range of issues across recruitment, workforce management and employment law.
Pippa and Gillian are both Fellows of the CIPD, (Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development), with a combined experience of nearly 50 years.
Pippa has held ‘head of’ and director level roles in a variety of key industries including retail and media with major firms including Hackett and Kurt Geiger as well as Future.
Gillian began her HR career with General Motors in Paris and has held HR director, head of HR’ and HR consultant roles across a variety of industries, working in the Telecoms, fast-moving consumer goods, consultancy and media sectors, with blue-chip employers such as Cable & Wireless, Pearson Entertainment and Future.
Pippa said: “Employers want a cost-effective approach to HR that doesn’t necessarily mean employing an in-house HR resource. We believe that an outsourced model is ideally suited to small and medium-sized businesses.
“Employment law and employer’s responsibilities are increasingly complex and Pears & Daniels recognise that employers can find this area of business stressful.
“We’re keen to support clients in the South West and offer an efficient, no-nonsense and practical approach to HR, either as a retained service or on an ad-hoc basis.”
Pears & Daniels specialise in operational matters and offer HR support and advice on key issues such as contracts of employment, redundancy and redundancy consultation and maternity, paternity and adoption leave.
