Business printer Integrity Print has acquired a small label printing company that works with toy makers Lego and Hasbro UK.

Cardiff-based Alliance Labels now becomes a trading division of Integrity Print, which employs more than 300 people and operates more than 50 presses on its 16-acre site on Midsomer Norton’s Westfield Trading Estate.

The takeover comes as Integrity celebrates its 100th anniversary this month – a landmark which it says will spur it on to grow the business further acquisitions and diversification.

Earlier this year it snapped up food packaging specialist C&P Packaging earlier this year and invested £600,000 to expand its laser printing and label printing capacity.

The Alliance Labels business will continue to operate at its existing location, with managing director Ian Davies staying on as general manager of the site and reporting to Integrity Print’s managing director Mark Cornford.

Mark Cornford said the acquisition was part of Integrity Print’s strategy to grow its labels division to annual sales of £10m.

“I believe that Alliance is a good fit with the culture of our team at Integrity and gives us greater manufacturing firepower across the group,” he said.

“We have different customer bases so there will be the opportunity to cross-sell work across the two sites and offer customers new services.

“The team at Alliance has many years of label printing experience and there will be some excellent opportunities to share knowledge and experience to boost sales across the company.”

Alliance Labels employs eight staff and has an annual turnover of £650,000, meaning Integrity Print now employs 328 people and turns over £45.65m a year.
