Bath Building Society has named city-based homeless organisation Julian House as its charity partner for 2025 after giving its 21,000-plus members a chance to vote in the selection process.
The society, which was established in 1904 to offer savings and mortgages to the local community, asked its 75-plus staff to nominate a charity close to their hearts and which does great work in the local community.
A shortlist of three was drawn up – with staff and members then voting for the one they considered would benefit most from a year-long partnership with the society.
Julian House supports vulnerable and at-risk individuals, including adults and young people experiencing homelessness, escaping domestic abuse, adults with learning difficulties and people who need support after leaving prison.
It operates more than 40 projects, accommodation sites and social enterprises across the South West, including a homeless outreach services and a 20-bed emergency access hostel.
It also run multiple training programmes, including bike workshops in Bath and Trowbridge, that help people regain confidence, learn new transferable work skills and get back into education, volunteering and employment.
Julian House CEO Helen Bedser said the partnership with Bath Building Society was an opportunity to work together to create lasting change and support the most vulnerable people in our community.
“Support like this is not just a lifeline for charities like Julian House but a beacon of hope for the individuals and families we serve,” she added.
“It ensures we can continue offering services that provide safety, support, and opportunities to rebuild lives.
“A heartfelt thank you to Bath Building Society for its generosity and belief in our mission.
