A prominent shop on Keynsham High Street has been to a local independent trader – a signal, according to property consultants Alder King, of a renewed demand in the town for well-located retail units.
“It said the High Street had weathered the recession well as it provides its local market with a good variety of national and independent shops and now has a vacancy rate well below the national average.
As a result, there are a number of unsatisfied requirements for space in Keynsham.
42b High Street generated substantial interest when it went on the market and was let very quickly.
Emma Smith of Alder King’s retail agency team, who acted for the landlord, said: “We have seen an increase in local retail requirements over the past six months, with significant interest in available properties.
“This letting was secured at the quoting price of £17,000 per annum within a matter of weeks of coming to the market and reflects growing confidence and sales growth in the retail sector.”
The 794 sq ft self-contained ground floor retail unit has loading facilities via the town’s car park.
