Bath-based wealth management firm Novia Financial has officially launched its charity foundation with a glamorous inaugural fundraising event at the Roman Baths.
The Mayor of Bath Patrick Anketell-Jones and more than 100 dignitaries joined the Novia Foundation’s trustees to celebrate its launch. The foundation is primarily supporting projects that aim to improve and help the lives of people in Bath and its surroundings.
It was created to mark 10 years since adviser platform Novia Financial was launched by CEO Bill Vasilieff.
The firm has grown exponentially over the past decade and believes supporting the Novia Foundation will help more efficiently channel its active and growing contribution to the local community.
Among those speaking at the launch were Bill Vasilieff, Novia Foundation trustee James Savage and Jamie Luck from Bath charity Mentoring Plus, one of the good causes supported by the foundation.
A charity raffle at the event with prizes ranging from lunch or tea with the Mayor to a corporate hospitality at Bath Rugby donated by Novia Financial and a hot tub and afternoon tea at No. 15 Great Pulteney, and donations on the night raised nearly £3,000.
Cheques worth £1,000 each were also presented to West of England Mentoring, Mentoring Plus, High Littleton Pre School, Cirencester Housing for Young People and St Peter’s Hospice with £1,750 going to Great Western Air Ambulance to fund one of its missions.
James Savage said: “We are immensely grateful for all those who attended and would like to extend a special thanks to Searcy’s and The Roman Baths for hosting us as well as to all the local business and all those who made personal donations to our raffle.
“It was a hugely enjoyable evening and we were delighted to be able to raise money and hear from some of our charities as to how that has already been put to good work.”
Bill Vasilieff added: “Novia as a company has been fundraising since it was established in 2008. Novia Foundation was the next logical step forward after our first 10 years, we are thrilled to be supporting this initiative.”
Novia Financial, one of Bath’s largest private employers, is also supporting the foundation by providing access to some of the skills needed to run the charity, such as website and financial accounting, as well as supporting the foundation’s fundraising activities.
