Law firm Thrings hosts free advice clinics for Bath’s digital pioneers

Innovators can get free expert advice on how to protect their apps and unique pieces of software tomorrow when Bath Digital Festival sponsor law firm Thrings offers a one-to-one advice clinic at its Queen Square office.

Thrings’ partners Alex Pyatt and Andy Braithwaite committed to sponsor Bath Digital because they were impressed with the growing number of innovative ideas coming out of the city.

The speed of digital innovation is now so fast that protecting intellectual property and avoiding taking commercial risks are more important than ever.

Alex Pyatt said: “Often new digital talent comes out of people’s back bedrooms and, at that point, it’s understandably easy to be so focused on developing your brilliant app or platform that you forget it may have great commercial and financial potential too.

“The last thing we want to see is people having their fingers burned and losing control of their product or being unable to benefit fully from the fruits of their own talent later on. So we’re offering anyone who feels they could benefit from our digital clinic to register for one of the 30 minute slots. We will speak with them informally but entirely confidentially about where to go from here – how they can protect an idea, or how best to structure an investment or a loan, for example.”

To book a free, 30-minute session tomorrow afternoon call Thrings on 01225 340000
