Bath-based international media group Future has appointed industry heavyweight Hugo Drayton as a non-executive director as its major restructuring programme nears its end.
Mr Drayton, pictured, who takes up the role on December 1, is CEO of advertising technology company InSkin Media. Prior to that he spent two years as CEO of behavioural targeting specialist Phorm and two years as European managing director of AOL/Time Warner-owned Advertising.com, the world’s largest digital ad network.
He also spent 10 years at The Telegraph Group, as group managing director and previously as marketing and new media director.
Future non-executive chairman Peter Allen said: “I am pleased to welcome Hugo Drayton to the board. He brings with him a wealth of digital and media experience.”
He replaces non-executive director Mark Whiteling, who leaves on November 30 to take up a role as non-executive director at global travel business Hogg Robinson.
Mr Whiteling has been a non-executive director at Future for just over four years and has chaired its audit committee since February 2011.
Last week Future said its transformation, which started earlier this year and has resulted in the sale of a number of titles, was largely complete.
The firm has raised £24.8m from the non-core disposals and reduced its cost base by £15m a year. It was also gaining from sales of higher-margin digital products reflecting a decline in print.
