Lloyds Bank Commercial Banking has strengthened its services to education establishments in the South West with the appointment of Christina Winter and Clare Thomas as specialist education relationship managers.

The pair will each work with a broad range of education clients across the region offering tailored guidance and support.

Christina joins the education team having already spent eight years with Lloyds Bank Commercial Banking, most recently as a business development manager where she worked with medium-sized businesses across a range of sectors.

Clare joins after working with Lloyds Bank in HR for two years supporting the delivery of a range of customer needs.

She said: “The education landscape is constantly changing. Schools are now focused on becoming more efficient and effective, and this includes their banking.

“As we get to know and understand the local schools, we are better placed to identify the challenges they face and deliver the right expertise and products to solve them.

Christina added: “With the recent Government announcement that all schools in England will become academies by 2020, it’s more important than ever to offer support to converting schools, and we will be using our expertise in this area to provide tailored guidance to new and existing clients.”

Four in five academies in the South West already bank with Lloyds Bank Commercial Banking.

Area director for healthcare and education Craig Baldwin said: “Our ongoing investment in sector-specific talent is all part of our ambition to cement our position as the leading light in our industry, and we’re pleased to have strengthened our team with the appointments of Clare and Christina.”
