Prezola.com, the Bath-based online wish list business, has appointed strategic and creative marketing firm TheAgency, also based in Bath, to handle its pre-Christmas launch.
Prezola is the brainchild of former Future Publishing director Dom Beaven, who was also head of digital and social media at Comic Relief and FIFA’s 1Goal World Cup legacy.
Designed to make online gift shopping easier, Prezola allows users to create and share their ideal wish list with friends and family.
The gift list is a compilation of all the products they’d like to receive for special gifting occasions such as Christmas and birthdays’, weddings and new babies.
Prezola will provide recommendations on the most popular items for each category making compiling lists easier. Lists can be instantly shared with friends and family through Facebook – meaning they can automatically buy the right gifts.
Styling itself “The Gift Wish List Company”, Prezola.com already has more than 250,000 products from 250 high street e-tailors including household favourites such as John Lewis, Amazon, French Connection and Toys R Us.
It is primarily aimed initially at busy mums with young children,
Dom said: “My wife Ali and I came up with the idea of Prezola following a hectic Christmas period when we were finding it difficult to co-ordinate our children’s gifts with friends and family.
“People really want to know what to buy each other and Prezola is designed for the social networking age, makes choosing, sharing and buying gifts an essential part of your online profile.”
Dom has ambitious plans for Prezola and aims to be the biggest Gift Wish List Company in the UK and Europe.
“With that in mind we have appointed TheAgency to help us launch and grow our customer base to more than 50,000 people in time for Christmas 2012,” he said.
“It was crucial for us to work with an agency who felt like a real part of our own team, and that’s exactly what we’ve got with TheAgency.”
TheAgency partner Saman Mansourpour said: “We have already laid down the launch strategy and will be working closely with Mumsnet and Facebook during the first few months. It’s vital that we get busy mums and their children on board from the outset, and Mumsnet provides a fantastic launch platform with more than a million members who can help us shape and refine Prezola in time for the Christmas rush.”
