Bath-based specialist management consultancy BMT Hi-Q Sigma has secured a six-month project to provide support to the Metropolitan Police Service as part of its far-reaching transformation initiative, the One Met Model 2020.
Under the project BMT Hi-Q Sigma will provide capability and capacity in four key areas – planning & dependency; benefits management; risks & issues and project management.
The BMT team will focus on establishing coherent, robust delivery schedules while risk and issue management experts will look at identifying threats to the successful delivery of the change programmes and their component projects.
The consultancy is supporting similar large-scale and complex projects with government departments, including in the justice sector.
One Met Model 2020 aims to ensure policing in the capital reflects the changing nature of the city, including reducing neighbourhood crime while also cutting costs.
BMT Hi-Q Sigma managing director Simon Gould said: “We’re delighted to be working with the Metropolitan Police Service to help them deliver their vision and implement the One Met Model.
“We place great emphasis on skills and knowledge transfer which means that not only will our experienced, multi-skilled team provide the insight to determine the optimal solution, they will work closely with Metropolitan Police Service personnel so that they understand the approach and can implement it successfully.”
