The Bath Priory, part of former Bath Rugby owner Andrew Brownsword’s hotel group, has retained its Michelin star for a third consecutive year.
Executive Chef Sam Moody, who joined The Bath Priory in 2009, was awarded the accolade for the first time in 2013 aged just 28. The country house hotel’s third star coincides with the release of the prestigious Michelin Guide 2015.
Sam said: “The Michelin guide is arguably the most-revered restaurant guide among chefs, restaurant critics and guests alike and we’re honoured to retain our star for the third year running.
“Our team here is young and ambitious and have worked so hard to deliver a consistently high standard of food. This is a fantastic achievement and I’m so proud of them all.”
The menu at The Bath Priory offers a selection of modern British dishes using the best quality produce from local producers and suppliers. Seven and 10-course tasting menus are available from £90 and its a la carte menu is £80 for three courses.
Dishes on The Bath Priory’s menu this autumn include Tartar of local wild venison, heritage beetroots, cumin and crème fraiche, and Plate of Wiltshire lamb, Hartley Farm heritage carrots, pearl barley and lamb jus.
Andrew Brownsword Hotels is a 12-strong collection of privately-owned hotels located in England’s most beautiful places. The group is owned by Andrew Brownsword and his wife Christina.
The Bath Priory’s sister hotel Gidleigh Park in Devon has retained its two Michelin stars for the 16th year, first winning two stars in 1999.
Earlier this month The Bath Priory won an AA Notable Wine List award, becoming one of only 217 establishments in the UK to hold the title.
