One of the South West’s most experienced accountants has joined regional accountancy firm Milsted Langdon as its new tax director.
Mike Lea, pictured, whose career in the profession spans more than 38 years, has become a member of Milsted Langdon’s tax team, enhancing the services it provides for its diverse range of clients, which range from small owner-managed businesses to large multinational groups.
Mike began his career at one of the UK’s Big Four accountancy firms, where he progressed from an audit trainee to a corporate tax senior manager.
He went on to work in the Bristol office of Smith & Williamson as managing partner, going on to become office senior partner in 2017.
In 2019 he joined regional accountancy firm PKF Francis Clark and headed its newly opened Bristol office as managing partner.
More recently he has been a charity trustee and non-executive director, including at an Employee Ownership Trust (EOT) controlled company.
Milsted Langdon, which has one of its five offices in Bath, said Mike had extensive expertise in corporate tax advisory and compliance, transaction tax, and restructuring work and had worked with a wide array of sectors including media, music, IT, aerospace and defence, builders’ merchants, and the food and drink industries.
Mike said: “I am really delighted to be joining Milsted Langdon and I look forward to bringing additional expertise to the team.
“They have an excellent reputation for serving the needs of their clients and providing exceptional advice on tax, across a wide variety of areas.”
Milsted Langdon chair Simon Rowe said the firm was thrilled to welcome Mike to its team.
“His extensive background and deep sector knowledge will greatly benefit our clients and enhance our firm’s capabilities in handling complex tax matters,” he added.
“Mike’s leadership will be instrumental in our continued growth and success.”
