KFraser Textiles, an independent business celebrating traditional British craftsmanship, officially opened its new shop in Bath’s Milsom Place this week.

The business is the brainchild of hand weaver Katherine Fraser who creates modern contemporary fabrics using traditional weaving looms and yarns.

Katherine’s work is known for its stunning colour combinations and beautiful feel against the skin. Her products include scarves, cushions, throws, tableware and fabric to order.

Katherine, who trained at the Winchester School of Art and gained a first-class honours degree in woven textiles.

She will be weaving in the store on a daily basis and will be happy to talk to customers about her work. Katherine moves to Bath after successfully running a similar shop in Shaftesbury, Dorset, for two years.

She said: “Bath is fast becoming a real creative hub and fashion capital and I want to be a part of it.”

Katherine is taking part in Bath in Fashion’s Fashion Night Out on March 29 when she will be offering 15% off all KFraser Textiles woven products.

KFraser Textiles will also be a shop window for other local artists such as Bee Parker’s handmade leather bags and unique silver jewellery by Pat Chandler.
