The first charity netball tournament hosted by Bath-based law firm Mogers Drewett has raised £2,500 for The Forever Friends Appeal and Dorothy House Hospice Care.
Ten mixed-sex teams from businesses and organisations based in and around Bath competed for the trophy with Interaction, the city-based office design and fit-out specialist, crowned champions following a closely fought final.
The tournament was held at the University of Bath’s Sports Training Village where the contestants were coached by Team Bath Netball’s Superleague players ahead of their group-stage matches.
Taking part were teams from Interaction, Nine Feet Tall, Richardson Swift, St John’s Foundation, SearchStar, Milsted Langdon, Carter Jonas, Speed Communications, Moonrakers Netball and Mogers Drewett.
Interaction, Milsted Langdon, Moonrakers and Nine Feet Tall qualified for the semi-finals with Milsted Langdon and Interaction competing in the final. While Milsted Langdon were ahead 6-4 at half time, a strong second half from Interaction meant they claimed the trophy with a 7-6 victory.

Mogers Drewett, which also has offices in Wells, Frome and Sherborne, is a long-term supporter of netball in Bath. As Team Bath Netball’s education partner it has funded its school workshop programme. Trainee solicitor Eboni Beckford-Chambers is a Commonwealth Games gold medal winner in the sport having been part of the England netball team that claimed an incredible last-gasp victory over hosts Australia earlier this year.
The firm’s managing partner Steven Treharne said: “As a partner of Team Bath and following the success of the England netball team at the Commonwealth Games, we were really excited to get out on the court to raise vital funds for two local charities.
“With every team given tips and coaching by a Team Bath Superleague player, including our own Eboni Beckford-Chambers, the tournament was a great evening.
“Thank you to everyone who took part in the tournament, and to the Team Bath players who coached each of the teams on the evening. We’re already looking forward to next year’s tournament.”
Money raised will go to The Forever Friends Appeal, which raises funds to make a difference to patients at the Royal United Hospitals Bath, and Dorothy House, which provides compassionate care and support for people with life-limiting illnesses across Bath, Somerset and Wiltshire, focused on quality of life and empowering patients to choose the care that they receive whether at home or at the hospice.
