Bath-based planning, creative, technology and media firm The Agency increased turnover by 50% and gross profit by 35% last year, according to its latest financial results.
It has grown its staffing to 25 full-time employees and continues to hire for its planning teams, creative and design teams as well as its technology teams.
Since its launch in January 2008 by Saman Mansourpour and Amy Stobie, The Agency has enjoyed year-on-year growth, despite the tough economic climate.
Managing director Saman said: “We have invested heavily in our technology capabilities in light of new client wins and the increased emphasis on digital marketing in general by the industry.
“Our capabilities have broadened to include complex CRM (customer relationship management) system builds, marketing automation as well as data security and reporting. We have scaled our technology team with front-end and back-end PHP developers, as well as technical leads, giving us, we believe, one of the strongest technical departments in the region.”
It rounded off 2013 by dominating the prestigious Marketing Industry Awards in November, picking up four wins out of six nominations and seeing off stiff competition from larger established agencies to take Best UK Small Agency of the Year as well as the Chairman’s Award.
In a great start to 2014, The Agency has already signed four high-profile brands to its client roster as well as being nominated finalists in eight categories for this year’s RAR Awards, which include Best Advertising Agency, Best Brand Strategists and Best Design Agency. The awards are famed for being judged in the most part by clients themselves. Winners will be announced this April.
In addition it has received two nominations in this year’s Drum Marketing Awards, including the category of Marketing Agency of the Year. The winners will be announced in May.
Operations director Amy Stobie added: “We have been delighted with our success in 2013, and are now looking to build on this. We have a fantastic team of people, some might say the best in the business. We’ve worked hard to build a marketing agency that’s fit for the modern world and a great and inspiring place to work. The clients who we partner with and the brands that we are responsible for are testament to our success as a team.”
Clients include the British School of Motoring and Quintiles Pharmaceuticals – won off larger London agencies soon after launching – along with BT and Del Monte.
The Agency ranks in the UK’s Top 100 Agencies and features in Drum Magazine’s Design 100 as well as its Top 100 UK Digital Agencies.
