Regional accountancy group Bishop Fleming, which has an office in Bath, has promoted two directors to partner as it continues its growth strategy despite the challenges presented by the coronavirus pandemic.
Dan White and Rob Pearce’s promotions will bring the firm’s partner group to 34 and, with a record number of trainees recruited last year, signal the firm’s ambition and confidence to expand further.
Bishop Fleming, which supplies audit, accounting, tax and advisory services to businesses and individuals, achieved growth of 4% last year, taking its turnover to £26m and securing its position in Accountancy Age’s top 30 UK league table of accountancy firms.
As well as Bristol, which is its largest office, Bishop Fleming also has bases in Bristol, Exeter, Plymouth, Torquay, Truro, and Worcester.
Rob Pearce, pictured right, who is based in its Worcester office, is a business tax expert working with a wide range of clients across many sectors as well as a leading expert in research and development tax credits, realising savings of more than £10m for his clients across the country.
He said: “I’m delighted to be joining the partner team to continue to strive to exceed client expectations. I joined Bishop Fleming six years ago and have been blown away by the support and sponsorship I’ve received from the firm to date.”
Dan White, pictured right, joined the firm’s Plymouth office in 2003 as a trainee. Having left to pursue his career in London following his training, he returned in 2014 and has since worked with businesses in a variety of sectors and sizes, helping them achieve their goals.
He said: “I’m incredibly proud to joining the partnership at Bishop Fleming. My first day at Bishop Fleming was as an 18 year old fresh out of sixth form. The firm has grown and changed substantially in the 17 years since then.
“I’m excited to work alongside the existing partners in leading the incredible team we have here and continuing to provide a great service to our clients.”
Bishop Fleming managing partner Andrew Sandiford added: “It gives me great pleasure to announce Dan and Rob’s promotions as they have both demonstrated a great depth of technical expertise and experience within our business.
“Their advancement to partner is well deserved, despite the delays due to the pandemic and lockdown, and is part of the firm’s strategy to grow our key advisory services to clients.”
As well as appearing in The Sunday Times Best 100 Companies to Work For for the past five years, Bishop Fleming also has a Gold status award from the independent customer services agency Investor in Customers for its ‘exceptional’ service to clients.
