Monahans, the South West’s largest independent accountancy firm, has appointed a new director and is taking on a second as it prepares for further growth this year along with the relocation and expansion of one of its eight offices.
Becky Young, pictured, who re-joined the firm last year as a senior client portfolio manager, has been promoted to director, based in its Trowbridge office.
She previously spent just over 12 years with Monahans as a client account manager before leaving in 2018 to launch her own business.
In her new role as director at Monahans she will concentrate on expanding her client relationships and working with a team of client managers to provide high-quality accounting services and advice to business owners.
Her promotion will allow Monahans managing partner Simon Tombs, also based in Trowbridge, to focus on leading the growth strategy for the practice.
A second director will also join the Trowbridge office next month with a background in managing corporate & business services at key firms over the past decade.
Monahans said the new director’s experience of developing and managing a portfolio of general practice clients would further enable it to act as trusted partner to its growing client base.
The appointments come as Monahans prepares to relocate its Trowbridge base from Fortescue House on Court St to County Gate on County Way – a few hundred metres away – to accommodate its expansion.
Simon Tombs said: “Becky returned to Monahans with wider experience, invaluable knowledge and skills that only running your own business will teach you, giving her the niche understanding and ability to relate to many of our clients.
“I am delighted to see her progress to director. She has been an invaluable asset to Monahans for a number of years, always providing outstanding services and forming strong relationships, and I am excited to see how she steers the business in the future.”
Becky added: “I am delighted to be one of the new directors at our Trowbridge office. It has been fantastic to see the business grow over the years and I am excited to be a part of Monahans’ promising future.”
Mr Tombs said the larger Trowbridge office perfectly complemented its ambition to service the town and surrounding area.
“Trowbridge is a hugely important area for us and we are pleased to say our new office is a light and airy modern space, occupying the whole of the second floor and with the addition of two new directors, we aim to continue providing the best service to our clients.
“From here we intend to continue to bring local accountancy services with a national reach to the doorstep of Wiltshire, Bath and Somerset businesses.”
Last April Monahans unveiled a full rebrand to mark its next growth phase in which it aims to grow by at least a further 10%.
The firm offers a range of specialised services including corporate finance, audit, tax consultancy, business recovery and insolvency, digital cloud accounting, elite payroll, HR services and probate from its network of offices, which also includes Bath and Chippenham.
