Future, the international media group based in Bath, has merged its two content marketing businesses to form a new global content marketing agency as it continues its major restructuring.
Called Future Fusion, the new division brings together staff who previously worked in its FuturePlus and NGIN businesses, producing ‘own-brand’ content, magazines and websites for blue-chip clients such as Sony Mobile, EE, Microsoft Xbox, HP, Tesco, Virgin Holidays and the Professional Footballers Association.
Future said Future Fusion will offer “bold and compelling new ways for brands to target influential audiences both across Future’s network of 52m consumers and beyond”.
Future Fusion’s team will collaborate with brands and Future’s award-winning editorial, multi-media and digital teams to produce innovative content, campaigns and media products that deliver results, Future said in a statement.
It continued: “By joining up Future’s multi-channel expertise and access with its content marketing pedigree and deep well of editorial talent, Future Fusion offers a massive competitive advantage to its clients.”
Future commercial director Jeff Turner said: “It’s an incredibly exciting time to launch Future Fusion with its combination of great teams and great work that offers brands more exciting ways to tell their story. Our blend of top-class editorial, design and digital innovation along with a results focus means we can truly deliver for our clients.”
Future is on track to axe around 200 out of its 900 staff as it looks for major cost cuts. Earlier this year it sold most of its sport and craft titles to Bristol-based rival Immediate Media for £24m and its auto titles to Kelsey Publishing for up to £2.9m. Further disposals are expected.
NGIN was launched less than 11 months ago as a commercial unit developing content marketing services across different platforms for major UK client and agency partners.
FuturePlus, was highly commended in last year’s Digital Magazine Awards for its ignition publication produced for Auto Trader and Tesco’s Technology & Entertainment magazine.
