High-growth and emerging markets may remain top of the exporting agenda, but UK Trade and Investment (UKTI) is urging West businesses not to forget the commercial benefits of markets closer to home.

As a result, the lucrative benefits of doing business in Germany are to be explained at a special event taking place in Bristol next week.

Director of trade and investment in Germany, Dan Rutstein, will provide an insight into the business culture, etiquette and challenges of trading in Germany.

Delegates will also find out how participating in German trade fairs, such as the Hannover Messe – one of the world’s largest industrial fairs – which can be vital to success in the market.

The event takes place on Tuesday June 18 at Leigh Court, near Bristol.

UKTI regional director Russell Jones said: “This free event will provide the perfect opportunity to highlight the importance of exploiting the export opportunities on our doorstep. Germany is the largest economy in Europe and the third-strongest economy in the world.

“It is a country of huge potential for the region’s businesses in both the product and service industries, and access to the German market has never been easier for South West businesses with the availability of daily flights.

“Not only will the seminar provide a valuable starting point for companies which are new to this potential export market, but it will also benefit those businesses which have an existing foothold that they wish to develop further.”
