Intellectual property law firm EIP has been named as a ‘national champion’ for the UK in The European Business Awards 2015/16 in recognition of its growth strategy.
The firm, which has a base in Bath, was one of only 54 UK companies and 678 throughout Europe chosen as national champions from more than 32,000 entries.
EIP, whch advises on all areas of intellectual property (IP) including patents and trademarks, was recognised in the Growth Strategy of the Year category, which celebrates organisations that best demonstrate an international organic growth strategy that has achieved outstanding levels of sales, profit and market share improvement.
it opened its Bath office in Circus Mews in 2007 before rapid growth forced it to moving to its current, much larger base at Westpoint in James Street West.
Founded in 2000, it has 23 partners and more than 140 staff practising from its four UK offices in Bath, Cardiff, Leeds and London, a US office in San Diego and a German office in Düsseldorf.
The next round requires the national champions to make a presentation video, telling their unique story and explaining their business success. The judges will award the best of this group the coveted ‘Ruban d’Honneur’ status. Ruban d’Honneur recipients will then go on to be part of the grand final in 2016.
EIP partner Jerome Spaargaren said: “We’re very proud to be selected to represent the UK as a national champion. The European Business Awards is widely recognised as the showcase for Europe’s most dynamic companies and we are now looking forward to the next round of the judging process where we can explain in more depth how we are achieving business success.”
Adrian Tripp, CEO of the European Business Awards, added: “Congratulations to EIP and all the companies that have been selected to represent their country as national champions, they play an important part in creating a stronger business community.”
