One of the UK’s fastest-growing industrial and commercial refurbishment specialist firms is expanding into Bath and the West of England after making a high-profile appointment.
Inco Contracts, which already has offices in the North West, South East and West Midlands, has appointed experienced construction specialist Adam Bidhendy as its South West director.
The firm is now planning to open an office in the region as it expands into the Bath, Bristol and Swindon markets by developing a dedicated team and supply chain to serve local education, commercial, healthcare and industrial clients.
It has already tendered for dilapidation work worth £3m and formal instructions are set to be agreed on a number of industrial refurbishment schemes.
Adam, pictured below, has joined Inco Contracts after two years at Bristol-headquartered construction, development, and property maintenance firm Lancer Scott – most recently as its operations manager.
A Chartered Construction Manager, he also spent 10 years at national construction, services and property group Kier Group and has also worked for Caerphilly-based building consultant BridgePort 360 and Bristol construction services firm Dribuild.
Inco Contracts, which has its headquarters in Cannock, Staffordshire, along with offices in Stevenage and Warrington, completes hundreds of specialist refurbishment projects across the UK every year.
These often involve it working alongside architects, designers and landlords to bring warehouse, educational establishments and offices back to life or to the required modern-day standards.
Its services range from industrial roof and cladding, dilapidation schemes, building services, mechanical and electrical installations and soft strip-outs as well as heritage and conservation work.
Adam said the £3m of dilapidation works tendered for by Inco Contracts was “just the tip of the iceberg”.
He added: “We want to take the DNA of Inco that has worked so well across other parts of the UK and drop it into Bristol and the South West.
“First step is having our own dedicated office and then we’ll build a team of site managers, contract managers and admin staff, while at the same time forging a local supply chain that shares our values.
“I firmly believe this region could be completing projects worth in excess of £8m in our first 12 months and, hopefully, my 15 years’ experience and contacts in this patch will facilitate that.”
Nationally, the firm is on course for its best-ever year, with turnover set to hit £40m – some £4m higher than this time last year.
Operations director Sam Norton said: “Bristol and the South West is a natural progression and an area we believe we can add value in.
“Adam’s appointment is a real coup and brings extensive construction experience and a proven track record of delivering high profile schemes in this area.
“He will also play a key role in attracting top talent to work for Inco and, over the next 12 months, we’ll look to recruit experienced professionals and also invest in apprentices and young graduates passionate for a career in our sector.”
