Rachel Addison has been appointed to Bath media group Future’s board as chief financial officer as part of its successful acquisition of magazine group TI Media, which completed in April.
Future said Rachel, pictured, who became TI Media’s chief finance officer two years ago, had a proven track record in driving, developing and delivering profits through new revenue growth, business transformation, organisational restructuring and mergers & acquisitions.
She was formerly managing director of Trinity Mirror’s Regional Media division, which publishes 200-plus print titles and local websites, with brands including the Bath Chronicle, Western Daily Press and Somerset Live.
Prior to that, she was CFO/COO and executive board member of Local World, the regional media publisher of 100-plus print titles and local websites acquired by Trinity Mirror for around £220m in 2015.
Rachel replaces Penny Ladkin-Brand, who stepped down from Future’s board to assume the role of its chief strategy officer.
Future CEO Zillah Byng-Thorne said: “I welcome Rachel to Future and want to personally thank Penny for her outstanding stewardship of our finances and look forward to working with her in her new capacity.”
Rachel Addison said: “This is an important moment in the history of these two media companies and I’m thrilled to be a part of it. I’m excited to see what opportunities there are following integration and what together we can achieve.”
Future, which owns around 150 titles ranging from TechRadar and PC Gamer to Classic Rock and FourFourTwo, announced last November that Rachel would join it as group CFO following the £140m acquisition of TI.
The deal was delayed to April due to an investigation by the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA). It has added TI’s 38 brands, with titles such as Decanter, Country Life, Homes&Garden and Woman & Home, to Future’s portfolio.
