Bath-headquartered Andrew Brownsword Hotels has strengthened its management team by creating four new regional general manager roles.

The family-owned group, which owns 13 properties around the UK including The Bath Priory, pictured, said the general managers would oversee additional properties within the group and drive forward business.

The group’s hotels also include the award-winning Gidleigh Park in Devon, the 900-year-old Amberley Castle in West Sussex, and the Sydney House Chelsea in London.

The properties are divided into two brands – Brownsword Hotels and the Abode group.

The new appointments are:

  • Gurval Durand, who is now regional general manager for The Bath Priory, Slaughters Country Inn and Sydney House Chelsea,
  • Simon Franks, regional general manager for Gidleigh Park, Buckland Manor and The Slaughters Manor House,
  • Beverley Molmans, regional general manager for Minster Mill, Old Swan and Amberley Castle,
  • Giles Stonehouse, regional general manager for the Abode hotels – Abode Manchester, Chester, Glasgow and Canterbury.

Andrew Brownsword Hotels CEO John Badley said: “As a group, we are very privileged to have such amazing talent.

“The skill, knowledge, experience and tenacity of our regional general managers is a great foundation for us to drive our business forward and we are very much enjoying working alongside the new team, and wish them all the very best of success as they move forward in their new roles.”

John Badley returned to the group earlier this year as CEO following the departure of previous CEO Stephanie Hocking after six years in the role.
