The Bath Good Food Awards has launched its website, giving food lovers the chance to nominate their favourite restaurants and producers as well as finding out the latest information about the prestigious awards.
Sponsored by Waitrose, Great Western Wine and Jack Content, the awards celebrate tasty, authentic and responsibly-produced food and drink – whether served up in the city’s best restaurants or grown and sold to enjoy at home.
The awards take place on September 23 when more than 30 winners will be announced at a glittering ceremony at Bath’s Guildhall. Running alongside the awards will be a day of food events in and around the Theatre Royal’s egg theatre, including cooking demos, a food and wine question time and appearances from celebrity chefs.
A local producers’ market is also being planned to coincide with the awards and a Bath Good Food Awards menu will be on offer at participating restaurants on the day.
Nominations for the 2012 Bath Good Food Awards can be made online by clicking on the ‘vote’ link at the new website, www.bathgoodfood.co.uk.
The five nominees with the most votes in each category will go before a panel of judges including Martin Blunos, Xanthe Clay (Telegraph), Fiona Beckett (Guardian), Angela Mount & Richard Bertinet. The establishment with the most nominations will be awarded the People’s Choice Award.
Nomination cards will also be appearing at restaurants around the city over the next month. Nominations close on June 30.
All those nominating their favourite Bath eating place will be entered into a prize draw to win a night out in Bath for themselves and a friend; the prize will include drinks for two, a meal for two at the restaurant that wins the 2012 People’s Choice Award, entertainment and a chauffeur for the evening.
