West of England chartered accountancy firm Monahans has appointed James Gare as a partner.
James, pictured, has joined from London and the South East firm MacIntyre Hudson, bringing with him more than 15 years’ experience in the not-for-profit sector, including charities and academies.
He said: “Monahans’ expertise and reputation in the sector, as well as the opportunity to relocate my family to such a beautiful part of the world, attracted me to make the move.
“Charities and academies are under ever-increasing pressure to deliver their outcomes more efficiently and effectively. Combined with additional regulation and scrutiny, it is a surprisingly challenging sector to work in.
“I get a great deal of satisfaction helping my clients achieve their aims knowing that they are making a very real difference to their local communities.”
He said this was particularly true of academy schools, which were under enormous pressure to keep costs low yet deliver continually improving educational outcomes.
“With the recent announcement that all schools are to become academies by 2022, it’s an exciting time for the sector and I am looking forward to supporting local schools accordingly,” he said.
Monahans has 12 partners and more than 120 staff across its offices in Bath, Chippenham, Frome, Glastonbury, Trowbridge and Swindon. James will be based in Trowbridge.
