Bath-headquartered law firm Royds Withy King has strengthened its residential property practice with the appointment of partner Mark Scott.
Mark, pictured, has joined the firm’s London office from Blake Morgan, where he was a legal director and head of its London residential property team. He was previously a lawyer at Mishcon de Reya.
Mark brings a 30-year track record of buying and selling prime residential in London to Royds Withy King, having acted for wealthy individuals both in the UK and overseas, investors, private banks and family offices.
He is known for his efficient and pragmatic approach to transactions with a strong track record in maintaining high levels of service.
Royds Withy King’s 60-strong residential property practice operates from its offices in Bath, London, Oxford and Swindon.
Mark said: “The past 16 months have been a particularly challenging environment for businesses and the people they employ. Yet the residential property market has held up and remains strong with encouraging forecasts for the year ahead and beyond.
“The demand for prime residential property both in central London and across the South East remains high and will continue as we emerge from the Covid pandemic. I am thrilled to be joining the team and look forward to contributing to the continued growth of the residential property practice.”
Royds Withy King partner and head of residential property Andrew Chalk added: “Mark is a talented lawyer with a deep understanding of the prime London market.
“He is extremely well-connected and strong relationships with agents, private banks, family offices and investors. We look forward to working alongside him as the practice continues to grow.”
Mark is Royds Withy King’s fourth partner appointment this month following those of Angela Gregson (property litigation), Jayne Martin (family law) and Sara Wolf (personal injury).
The firm employs around 520 people across its offices, including 74 partners.
