Bath-based chartered accountancy firm Pearson May has promoted Matthew Rutter to partner. Matthew joined the leading regional practice in 2004 after completing a degree in Mathematics at the University of Bristol. He went on to qualify as a chartered accountant and passed the Institute of Taxation exams in 2011.
Pearson May partner Nick Oliver said: “Matthew’s promotion follows our strong tradition of growing and developing our staff and we can congratulate him for all his special work and success.
“Our unique approach to tax planning in the context of a holistic view of our clients’ business is proving especially popular and we are experiencing great demand at present.’’
Matthew said he was thrilled to become a partner in one of the best respected firms of chartered accountants in the country and to be working alongside such a talented team.
“Work is very exciting and I am particularly looking forward to getting even more involved in the local business community,’’ he said.
Pearson May, which celebrated its 175th year anniversary in 2016, employs seven partners and 50 staff across its offices in Bath, Chippenham and Trowbridge.
The firm advises businesses and individuals, both locally and internationally, with a range of services that span accounting, auditing, book-keeping, budgeting and financial planning, taxation and VAT.
Outside of work, Matthew is treasurer of a local hospital radio and a regular supporter of local football teams.
