Pioneering parenting programme to be showcased to Bath professionals

Professionals in Bath who work with parents in dispute over their children are being given a unique insight into a pioneering parenting programme.

The free training event, staged by Bath law firm Stone King’s family law and mediation team on March 28 in conjunction with Bristol Family Mediation, will give professionals a chance to  experience the Separated Parents Information Programme.

Courts can ask parents to attend the programme, which tries to encourage a more constructive approach to parenting after separation. Professional advisors, however, are not allowed to attend these meetings.

Head of Stone King's family law and mediation team John Brownrigg said: "The aim of our training session is to educate professionals in the community as to exactly what happens on these programmes.

"This will enable us all to advise parents about what they are likely to experience and how they will gain from such a programme."

The session, between 4pm and 6.30pm at 18 Queen Square, Bath, is open to all professionals working with families in conflict – but places are limited.
