Bath law firm Mogers Drewett has praised a ‘kindness’ initiative introduced by a school in the city after it won £500 in its Queen’s Platinum Jubilee competition.
Eye-catching bunting designed by pupils at St John’s Catholic Primary School secured it top prize in the Years 6 to 8 category of the contest, which attracted more than 400 entries.
Four months on, lawyers from the firm were delighted to fiind out that the prize money had been spent on a playground ‘Buddy Bench’.
Initiated by the school’s Kindness Krew, a group of Year 6 children who work together to make playtimes happy for everyone, the bench is for anyone who does not have a friend to play
The Kindness Krew keep an eye on it and play with anyone sitting on it. This means that everyone has a friend to play with.
The Kindness Krew also support children who might find playtimes tricky by solving problems using their ‘diamond powers’.
A Mogers Drewett spokesperson said: “We were delighted to have helped the Buddy Bench to become a reality and hope the Kindness Krew continue with their great work and that the Buddy Bench is a place for children to enjoy for years to come.”
