West of England chartered accountancy firm Monahans has appointed Richard Brooks as partner specialising in private client tax.
Richard, pictured, has joined the firm’s Bath office after spending 16 years leading the largest private client tax consultancy practice in the Channel Islands, where he specialised in providing UK and international tax advice to a complex portfolio of personal and trust clients.
He has more than 30 years’ experience in UK tax consultancy and is a qualified chartered tax adviser and trust and estate practitioner.
After qualifying with an independent firm of chartered accountants in the South of England, Richard gained experience with the ‘Big Four’ in London and was a tax partner in a practice in East Anglia prior to moving to Jersey.
Richard said: “I am looking forward to assisting Monahans in growing and developing their already strong and established tax consultancy offering in the specialist private client area.
“I enjoy working with a range of clients across many different industry sectors and assisting them with managing the multitude of taxes that they will encounter during their life by providing a personal and partner-led advisory service.

Richard is based at Monahans’ Bath office, but is also available for clients at the firm’s other offices in Chippenham, Frome, Glastonbury, Trowbridge and Swindon.
