Specialist sustainable travel consultancy Go Travel Solutions, which has an office in Bath, has appointed Hazel Ho as project coordinator.
Hazel, who has worked in a number of marketing, PR and business development roles for businesses, will be responsible for supporting major sustainable travel projects in Gloucestershire, Bristol and Plymouth, as well as stakeholder engagement and business development.
She will be based at Go Travel Solutions’ recently-opened office at the University of Bath Innovation Centre. Her appointment increases the company’s core team to six across its two offices – the firm also has a base at the Innovation Centre in Leicester.
Prior to joining Go Travel Solutions, Hazel worked at Bath-based graphic design and software development firm Dodify and Marcom, the PR agency also based in the city.
Go Travel Solutions director Cliff Jones, who heads the Bath office, said Hazel had joined at an important time in the growth of the company’s UK operations.
“She brings a range of transferrable skills to her new role and understands our values as a social enterprise business, specialising in sustainability,” he said.
“Hazel’s support will prove invaluable as we deliver the three existing projects in the south of England that will bring about a modal shift in the approaches to business travel and commuting in these areas.”
The firm is working with Harris Ethical and Integrated Transport Planning, on a personalised travel planning project for Gloucestershire County Council focused on providing travel choice information and promoting sustainable transport modes other than the single occupancy private car for up to 30,000 households and numerous community groups in Gloucester and the surrounding areas.
Its Bristol and Plymouth projects are led by Carplus – a not-for-profit, environmental transport NGO that promotes accessible and low-carbon alternatives to traditional car use in the UK and is the national accreditation body for car clubs in the UK.
In Bristol that involves working with the city council on plans to facilitate the expansion of the existing car club network.
