Half Moon Bay, the Bath-based licensed giftware wholesaler, has relocated its warehouse for the second time in three years.
The firm, which sells products licensed from many of the world’s top entertainment brands such as Disney, Harry Potter, Superman, Doctor Who and Star Wars, has agreed a nine-year lease for a modern refurbished unit in Melksham.
It previously occupied a site in Warminster – which it moved into following its 2018 acquisiton of homeware and fashion brand Shruti.
Prior to that it operated out of a warehouse in Westbury.
The firm, which has its head office and design studio on Bath’s Walcot Street and employs around 50 people, began in 1995 by distributing unusual giftware products from the US.
It is now distributing its wide product range from the 19,000 sq ft warehouse on Melksham’s Bowerhill Industrial Estate, which was previously occupied by commercial printing firm Superior.
The site includes assembly, packing and warehouse space on the ground floor as well as an office on the first floor.
The detached unit is also close to the A350 Melksham by-pass, with good links the M4 and South Coast.
Carter Jonas partner, commercial, Alison Williams – who handled the letting – said: “There continues to be strong demand for quality warehousing within Wiltshire and the wider region, and this space at Bowerhill Industrial Estate is an excellent example of the modern, well thought out design that many businesses are snapping up.
“Strategically located in the heart of the South West logistics triangle, it is no wonder Half Moon Bay seized on this opportunity to expand here.”
Half Moon Bay managing director Peter Thompson added: “We are very pleased to be based in such a vibrant and well-connected area in an outstanding building that really suits our requirements.”
Half Moon Bay, which is named after a laid-back Californian surfing town, was advised by Philip Holford of property agents Myddleton & Major.
In February it put its freehold 49,452 sq ft multi-unit site in Warminster on the market with Myddleton & Major with a guide price of £2.85m.
The Bowerhill unit’s private owner was advised by Carter Jonas and Kavanaghs.
Other occupiers on the Bowerhill Industrial Estate include Travis Perkins, Build Base, Herman Miller, Knorr Bremse and Wiltshire Police.
