The Bath Pub Company is to open its fourth pub – the former Dolphin Inn on Locksbrook Road in Lower Weston – next month.

The firm, which runs The Chequers, The Marlborough Tavern and The Hare and Hounds, has invested £250,000 in refurbishing the pub in a joint venture with Enterprise Inns. It will be renamed The Locksbrook Inn.

The Bath Pub Company director Joe Cussens said: “The building is undergoing a transformation and the change of name feels right for the pub’s heritage, its position on the canal and its next chapter.

“Our pubs each have their own character – a chain approach to things doesn’t quite work for us. Rest assured, we’re planning something a little different for this one.

“A good pub should make everyone feel welcome – we’re aiming to build a special place that we hope people will feel proud to call their local.”

The Locksbrook Inn will open seven days a week for drinks, breakfast, lunch and evening meals. The Bath Pub Company will announce the opening date and more details about the new menu soon.

The Bath Pub Company will operate The Locksbrook Inn under a lease issued by Enterprise Inns.
