Jonothan McColgan, director of Bath-based financial advisers Combined Financial Strategies, has been nominated for a major award for the third year in a row.
Jonothan is the reigning Financial Adviser of the Year, having won the accolade at the prestigious Growth Investor Awards last year. He was runner-up in 2015.
This year he has been shortlisted again for the award, which is sponsored by LGBR Capital.
The Growth Investor Awards recognise innovation and impact in SME investment in the UK, as well as celebrating forward-thinking intermediaries who promote tax efficient investments as part of their financial planning proposition.
Jonothan said: “I am really proud to be nominated as a finalist for the third year in a row and it is a real honour to have the opportunity to defend this prestigious title that I won in 2016 against some of the best financial advisers from across the UK.”
He will compete against five fellow finalists at an exclusive black-tie awards dinner for 450 guests on Wednesday November 8 at the Royal Lancaster Hotel in London.
LGBR Capital business development director for tax products, Jack Rose, said: “The quality of advisers active in the tax efficient investment sector has been demonstrated by the Financial Adviser of the Year shortlist for the past two years, so LGBR Capital is therefore delighted to support the Growth Investor Awards campaign for a third consecutive year.”
Having been shortlisted, the finalists will now move on to a second round of judging to determine the winner in each award category. An advisory board of prominent figures representing different sections of the investment and SME community will evaluate the strength of each finalist’s entry.
Launched by Intelligent Partnership in 2015, the Growth Investor Awards recognise those that are helping start-up and ‘scale-up’ businesses realise their full potential and power Britain’s economy.
Intelligent Partnership managing director Guy Tolhurst said: “We created the Growth Investor Awards because we felt it was time to start celebrating those individuals and companies considered to be ‘best in class’ within the SME investment ecosystem.
