The five-star Bath Priory, part of Andrew Brownsword Hotels, has become one of 21 new additions to Relais & Châteaux, the global association of individually owned and operated upmarket hotels and restaurants.

The hotel, which sits in four acres of gardens, has 26 bedrooms and seven suites, and boasts a 3 AA Rosette restaurant headed by executive chef Michael Nizzero, who joined in January last year.

The walls of the luxury hotel are adorned with owners Andrew and Christina’s private art collections and the property is home to the only spa to be run with French skincare brand L’Occitane.

Bath Priory has joined Relais & Châteaux in its latest recruitment drive, with hotels in Africa, Asia and Europe also becoming members of the consortium.

Relais & Châteaux international president Philippe Gombert said: “Whether chef, hotelier of restaurateur, every Relais & Châteaux member must be motivated by a passion for his or her craft. Each must share strong values and possess a human identity that is fully committed and driven by the desire to bring local cultures to life.”

The 21 new members join more than 550 other world-class hotels and restaurants around the globe as part of R&C.

Bath-based Andrew Brownsword Hotels, which owns eight hotels across southern England, was named AA Hotel Group of the Year 2017-18.
