Medical cannabis company Sativa, the firm behind the Goodbody Wellness retail chain, is to launch a new CBD (cannabinoid) and vitamin D product range after achieving record sales last month.
The firm, based at Beckington, near Frome, said the brand positioning had been strengthened following publication of a report commissioned by the government that encouraged consumers to take vitamin D to help fight coronavirus and prepare for winter.
The increased product range means consumer could take advantage of the additional benefits associated when combining CBD with Vitamin D, Sativa added.
Savita, which describes itself as the UK’s leading quoted CBD wellness and medicinal cannabis company, owns the Goodbody Botanicals brand, which is available in many high street stores and pharmacies, as well as through its chain of Goodbody Wellness outlets, including in Bath.
Chief executive officer Henry Lees-Buckley said Sativa’s was now the only product range in the UK market to offer two flavours and three CBD strengths of 5,10 and 20% CBD and vitamin D bottled within a premium olive oil.
“Our new vitamin D product range offers an easy solution to taking CBD and vitamin D, all in one bottle,” he added.
The product development follows on from the company’s recently launched Goodbody website combining the two Goodbody Botanicals and Goodbody Wellness product ranges to strengthen the overall Goodbody brand.
Having one platform allowed the brands to communicate consistently to customers and offer the latest information within the increasing compliance requirements of the market, the firm said.
Bumper sales of its cannabinoid (CBD) hand sanitiser helped bring in record monthly revenues in June, the firm said recently
Consumers and corporate buyers had snapped up its CBG and alcohol-based hand sanitisers in response to the coronavirus pandemic.
Sativa’s revenues rose more than five-fold to £1.45m last year.
Earlier this year it signed a distribution agreement with Alliance Healthcare, the leader in distribution to independent pharmacies across the UK, for the Goodbody Botanicals brand and secured its first product listing with WH Smith Travel.
