Fundraising feats ranging from completing the Three Peaks Challenge to staging a bake-off have earned Bath-headquartered law firm Royds Withy King recognition as a senior corporate partner of the Royal United Hospital’s (RUH) Forever Friends Appeal.
The efforts of partners and staff at the firm raised more than £25,000 for the appeal, which Royds Withy King has supported many years. It was the firm’s chosen charity from 2013 to 2015 and each September it raises money from its annual Will Month. This year staff also took part in the Bath Half Marathon.
The funds raised will go towards the cost of building a pioneering new cancer centre at the RUH which will aim to balance clinical expertise with a nurturing environment, placing patient experience at the centre of its approach for patients and their families.
Royds Withy King strategic lead partner for Bath, Stuart Brazington, said: “We have an incredibly rewarding relationship with The Forever Friends Appeal and have enjoyed taking part in different fundraising challenges. The RUH does fantastic work, treating over 2,200 new cancer patients each year, and we are proud to know that our contribution will help to support such a worthwhile cause.”
The Forever Friends Appeal corporate officer Jo Common added: “We are just so pleased to welcome Royds Withy King on board as one of our senior corporate partners for the Cancer Care Campaign and look forward to working together as the new cancer centre develops. Thank you to all members of the Royds Withy King team for their invaluable support.”
The Forever Friends Appeal has so far secured more than £8m towards its target of a minimum of £8.5m for the RUH Cancer Care Campaign through the support of local businesses such as Royds Withy King, community groups, legacies, trusts and individuals.
Royds Withy King is a full-service UK Top 100 law firm employing more than 450 staff across its offices in Bath, London, Oxford and Wiltshire.
