Leisure industry experts from Bath-headquartered regional law firm Royds Withy King have helped a premium fitness studio open in central Bath.
Highly experienced personal trainer and lifestyle coach Arron Collins-Thomas, whose track record includes working at Somerset prestigious members’ club and hotel Babington House, has launched Toniq to provide a high-end group exercise experience to corporate and private clients.
Arron has invested in the business and also attracted funds from an angel investor to get the venture off the ground.
Royds Withy King corporate lawyer Edward Chapman helped Arron and his fellow shareholders structure the company and establish the way in which the investment would be governed.
His colleague, real estate lawyer Richard Gorham, negotiated and agreed the lease of Toniq’s base at 5 Green Park House from Bath Spa University in time for a comprehensive fit-out ahead of this week’s opening.
Ed said: “Fitness classes are increasingly a social experience, and the setting plays a very important role. Toniq’s tailored group sessions in a high-end environment reflect this wider trend and are a natural fit for the city. Class-led fitness communities are thriving in cities across the UK, having arrived from the USA and Australia, and now is the ideal time to bring the concept to Bath.”
Arron, who has taken on the role of fitness director at Toniq, is also be offering a range of exclusive fitness, nutrition and lifestyle services designed to improve health and wellbeing.
He said: “This is a concept and project I am very passionate about and seeing the new studio come to life over these last few months has been extremely exciting. This is going to be so much than just another gym.
“It is about a dedicated, healthier way of living; one that doesn’t just make you look good but feel good too. I am grateful for the professional support I’ve had from Royds Withy King and look forward to welcoming Bath residents into our space at 5 Green Park House.”
