A light-hearted video featuring the team running in the Bath Half Marathon from city-headquartered law firm Royds Withy King is aiming to raise awareness of their chosen charity, Bath Mind.

The 18-strong team hope the film will also bring in much-needed funds for the charity as they go through their final preparations for this Sunday’s race, which is expected to attract around 15,000 runners and is the largest single-day charity fundraising event in the South West.

Bath Mind is Royds Withy King’s chosen charity for 2017-2019 following a vote by staff at its offices in Queen Square and Midland Bridge and the team – the biggest the firm has entered for the Bath Half – hope to swell its coffers through their efforts.

In total, the firm hopes to raise tens of thousands of pounds for Bath Mind during the two years it is its chosen charity.

Nicola Cutler, an associate in Royds Withy King’s dispute resolution team and regional chair of its dedicated charities group, said: “Everyone has been training hard and is in good spirits ahead of Sunday.

“The Bath Half is a brilliant event that raises money for so many great causes. We’re proud to be running in aid of Bath Mind, which does fantastic work to improve the lives of people with mental health problems and their families.”

The team is hoping to perform well in both the men’s and women’s hard-fought corporate challenges – 500 places are specifically reserved for entrants representing businesses teams competing for the coveted Bath Half Corporate Challenge Men’s and Women’s Team trophies.

Now in its 36th year, the Bath Half Marathon has become well established as one of the city’s biggest annual events. As well as thousands of runners, it attracts an estimated 30,000 spectators.

Last year’s event raised a record £2.25m for charity.
