Judges in a major awards scheme for the social care industry have named Bath-headquartered law firm RWK Goodman as a finalist.
The firm will line up as one of six shortlisted firms in the Legal Advisor – Independent category of this year’s LaingBuisson Awards and will go head-to-head against major national players such as Pinsent Masons and Bevan Brittan.
The award is presented for excellence in the provision of legal services to the independent social care sector, including for profit and not for profit operators.
RWK Goodman’s health and social care team was selected for the outstanding quality of its advice to care providers of all categories.
RWK Goodman partner Hazel Phillips, pictured, who has a particular focus on health and social care, said: “I’m proud that our specialist health and social care team continues to be recognised for its excellence across all aspects of providing legal advice to care providers.
“We genuinely enjoy working in the sector and working with our clients to help build and protect their businesses.”
LaingBuisson said: “This year we received an outstanding number of nominations for every single category, with more than 400 entries. The competition was extremely tough and decisions were very hard.”
The award winners will be announced at a ceremony on 17 November at the Park Plaza, Westminster Bridge, London.
In June RWK Goodman’s health and social care team was shortlisted in the ‘Legal Advisers of the Year – Transactional’ category of the influential trade publication Health Investor’s prestigious annual awards.
RWK Goodman, which employs more than 600 people, was formed earlier this year from the merger of Bath-headquartered Royds Withy King and London practice Goodman Derrick.
As well as its two offices in Bath – Northumberland Buildings in Queen Square and Midland Bridge House on Midland Bridge – it also has offices in Bristol, Swindon, Oxford and London.
