The dedicated social care team at Bath-headquartered law firm Royds Withy King has advised on the sale of a care home with an ‘outstanding’ Care Quality Commission (CQC) rating.
Ridgeway House in Bristol, pictured, is an independently and family-operated care home providing specialist care for individuals with learning disabilities, including autism, cerebral palsy, down syndrome and profound learning disabilities.
The home, in the Bishopsworth area of the city, has seven single bedrooms and is registered for a maximum of seven service users.
The sale followed the retirement of owner and managing director of Ridgeway House, Elaine Leslie, who has operated Ridgeway House since it opened in 1993. No information about the buyer of the purchase price have been disclosed.
Royds Withy King’s team was led by partner Hazel Phillips, supported by Chartered Legal Executive Dan Pinheiro and solicitor Zoe Pettigrew. Ms Leslie was advised on financial aspects of the sale by Jim Duggan, a partner in chartered accountants Albert Goodman’s Bristol office.
Ms Leslie said: “We have provided a home for some of the most vulnerable people in our community for over 28 years, and whilst it is never an easy decision to make, now is the time for me to step down.
“The new owner shares the same vision for the home as I have and will continue to provide the high level of care for our fantastic residents.”
Hazel Phillips, pictured, added: “We were delighted that Elaine put her trust in us to help her complete the sale of Ridgeway House.
“Elaine has been involved with this family business from the start and has built it to be the unique outstanding home that it is today. We wish her well as she moves onto new things.”
Royds Withy King also has offices in Swindon, Oxford, Bristol and London.
