Kate Gorringe has been appointed as creative director of Mr B & Friends, the Bath-based brand, creative and digital agency.
With more than 20 years’ experience in London-based design and advertising agencies, Kate’s clients have included Lloyds TSB, JustGiving, AXA, Principality Building Society, Siniat (formerly Lafarge Plasterboard) and Sainsbury’s and she brings a strong blend of conceptual thinking grounded in commercial good sense to the role.
Kate is well known for creating brand identities and integrated campaigns that work across every media, particularly digital, and will be leading and mentoring a six-strong creative team.
She said: “There is a palpable sense of creative intelligence and energy about Mr B & Friends, underpinned by a strident feeling of ambition and a ‘can do’ attitude that makes this a very special place to work.”
The agency is also promoting long-standing staff member Sheena Mistry to the role of design director. Over the six years that she has worked for Mr B & Friends, Sheena has fine-tuned her brand identity skills by taking the lead on a number of high-profile rebrands including Suffolk Life, TrekAmerica, Greenergy, Bristol City Community Trust, UK Active and Fourpure Brewing Co.
Meanwhile, agency partner Steve Richardson will be stepping up to the role of executive creative director – allowing him to spend more time steering the creative and strategic direction for clients.
He said: “We have a very strong creative output at Mr B & Friends and continually win pitches over bigger London agencies with star-studded client lists, much to their chagrin.
“We have built an enviable reputation regionally and are beginning to compete seriously on a national level for plum branding jobs – our two new appointments will enable us to take the agency to a whole new level.”
