A Bath hotel is offering free use of its meeting rooms to small businesses, charities and community groups as they look ahead to life after Covid-related restrictions.

The Apex hotel on James Street West, along with nine others in the Apex group, this week launched its ‘Help in Hand’ initiative offering complimentary use of space along with free wi-fi.

The 177-bedroom, £50m hotel, which opened four years ago, is Bath’s largest and the city centre’s only purpose-built conference venue.

Apex said ‘Help in Hand’ is aimed at firms and groups that were now looking to get back on their feet following a challenging year as well as start-ups looking to get off the ground.

Group director of sales Kim Wilkinson said: “It’s been a tough year for everyone, and the pandemic has had a massive impact on new and existing businesses as well as local community groups in Bath and the surrounding area.

“Many of them are still unable to operate having lost their original spaces or cannot carry out their work safely in their existing premises within current social distancing guidelines.

“We’re in a position to help out and want to do what we can to get struggling businesses and groups back on their feet – or do our bit to get fledgling operations off the ground.

“Our meetings and venue spaces in Bath are perfect in terms of suiting the needs of a variety of businesses and groups, big or small. And we also throw in free wi-fi to ensure any online operations can continue seamlessly.”
