Homewood, the luxury hotel near Bath which recently underwent a £3m upgrade, is to make a further investment in its spa offering as it continues to benefit from an increase in wellness stays.
The owner of the 31-bedroom hotel at Freshford, Bath boutique hotel group the Kaleidoscope Collection, is to spend £500,000 on a new vitality pool, experience showers and relaxation room with views across the Avon Valley – making the spa a year-round attraction.
Additional pool seating and a new outdoor sauna have already been installed as part of its investment programme, which has included six new luxury guest suites, each with their own private terraces, two new spa suites and a small meeting and events space.
Last year the Kaleidoscope Collection launched two spa suites and an ice bath retreat at Homewood, which is set in 20 acres of grounds. It said the new facilities had led to a 7% year-on-year increase in bookings.
Homewood general manager ed Fitzpatrick said: “With work well underway, the spa development marks the start of a phased capital investment project to cement Homewood as a leading boutique hotel.
“As a result of this project, our spa will become a year-round facility, allowing us to deliver a better guest journey and an increased membership.
“More so than ever, guests are looking for more than just a hotel experience. They want something that wows them and that goes above and beyond. We truly believe our new spa offering does just this.”
Homewood will also launch a new spa membership to coincide with the new development this summer.
The hotel recently became a member of PoB Hotels, the elite organisation that helps market some of the UK’s most prestigious venues.
The Kaleidoscope Collection, which also owns the 31-bedroom The Bird, Bath, on Bath’s Pulteney Road, Bishopstrow Hotel & Spa, a 19th-century, 32-bedroom country house hotel near Warminster, and No.7 Upper Lansdown, a luxurious two-bedroom house, close to Bath city centre, bought Homewood in 2018 from Longleat Group Hotels, adding a 10-bedroom lodge to it the following year.
