Accountant Suzi Bryant has been honoured for finishing in the top 10 in the world in her professional exams.
Suzi, a financial and treasury accountant at Chippenham-based specialised drugs firm Alliance Pharmaceuticals, came ninth out of all those across the globe taking the same Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) exam, which she sat while she was still a finance student.
She one of a select group of three high-achieving students invited to a celebratory lunch in Bristol recently by CIMA to mark their success in the global exams.
The event was hosted by CIMA South West Area chair David Johnson, who praised the hard work put in by the students.
“It was wonderful to yet again this year be able to see the phenomenal success of CIMA students in the South West and to be able to celebrate Suzi’s achievement at this special lunch,” he said.
“We are really proud of Suzi being from this region. CIMA qualifications can provide so many opportunities to young people in their careers and enable them to provide an outstanding array of skills to any employer.”
Suzi said: “I was genuinely delighted to hear I had passed my final CIMA exam – three hard years of work, but so worth it. I cannot wait to see what I can achieve now I am a chartered accountant. Ninth in the world sounds pretty good on any future CV as well!”
To become a chartered global management accountant, students need to complete 12 professional qualification exams requiring personal study and dedication. This is complemented by three years’ experience which can be gained while studying.
CIMA was founded in 1919 and is the world’s largest professional body of management accountants, with more than 227,000 members and students operating in 179 countries.
