Specialist adhesives firm ALH Systems has been sold to expanding Swedish industrial giant Indutrade.
ALH, based at Westbury, has annual sales of £6m and employs 37 staff. It supplies formulated polyurethane and epoxy encapsulants, adhesives, sealants and potting compounds to the gas, construction and electronics sectors.
ALH will become part of Indutrade’s Special Products business area. Indutrade which is headquartered in Sweden and listed on the Stockholm Stock Exchange owns approximately 180 companies worldwide.
It said it expects the acquisition of ALH, its fourth in the UK in as many weeks, to have a marginally positive impact on its earnings per share. Financial details of the deal have not been disclosed.
Bath law firm Withy King’s corporate, employment and commercial property teams advised ALH. The deal was led by Withy King partner and head of the corporate law team Richard Baxter and corporate lawyer Rishi Ladwa.
Rishi said: “We were able to bring together advisors from our corporate, employment and property teams to advise on different aspects of the transaction, which meant the process was handled quickly and efficiently.
“We are extremely pleased to have helped our clients to achieve such a positive outcome for the business as well as its staff and clients, and we wish the company every success in the future.”
Also involved in the deal was business sale specialists The Camlee Group, which handled it from its Corsham office.
Camlee director Lee Wojtkiw said “It was immediately clear from the onset that the two companies were an ideal fit. Our clients at ALH felt that being under the umbrella of the Indutrade group would offer long term stability and would provide a framework that offered excellent opportunities to build upon ALH’s continued development of new and existing products.”
